LABORATORIES
1. Office Simulation Laboratory
The Office Simulation Room (OSR) is designed to cater the needs of the students enrolled in BSOA. The office is fully equipped with office facilities and equipment, which are available upon request of the students. It also serves the needs of students from other courses for facilities and equipment for their activities such as research paper oral defense, meetings and research.
2. Science Laboratory
The Science Laboratories serve the needs of the science classes of the college and the graduate school. They extend services to the faculty and students who wish to conduct school approved research using the laboratory facilities, and to the IBED pupils on the use of the facilities.
The Science Laboratories has an exhibit room which is located beside the Biology lect/Lab room. It houses the whale skeleton and the different sample specimen for research and study purposes.
3. Language Laboratories
The Language Laboratories include the Reading Laboratory, Speech Laboratory and Masscom Laboratory. These are located at the fourth floor of the Bro. Leonard Sonza’s Building.
The Reading Laboratory has different SRA Kits, books, dictionary, other references, and some instructional materials which are used in reading classes (Eng 380 and Eng 381).
The Speech Laboratory is equipped with fifty (50) speech booths. Each booth has a headphone, mirror, guidebook and other accessories needed for oral communication drills.
The Masscom Laboratory has Editing and Recording Rooms. Various equipment are available for students in the preparation of documentary outputs.
Request for the use of any of the language laboratories or any equipment must be made/filed at least twenty four hours before the actual use.
4. Engineering Laboratories
a. The ECE/EE/CoE/Architecture laboratories caters to the needs of students’ exposure to laboratory equipment and instruments, as supplement to classroom discussion.
A set of modules for analog and digital communications, data communications equipment, robotics and microcontrollers, PABX and logic trainers, and energy conversion are available for use in addition to laboratory manuals. Books, electronic replacement guide, magazines and handbooks are available for reference.b. The CE and IE Laboratories
The CE and IE laboratories are located at the ground floor of the Bro. Michael O’Keefe building. It consists of the Hydraulics Room, CE and IE Heavy Machines rooms, carpentry working area, and the engineering laboratory office.
The CE and IE laboratories extend services to faculty and students who wish to conduct research.
Among the equipment and facilities available are carpentry tools, plumbing tools, construction materials, testing apparatus and devices, hydraulics, apparatus, soil mechanics apparatus and surveying instruments.
5. Practical Arts
The practical arts room is equipped with equipments necessary to develop the students skills in household works. There are machines for sewing, kitchen utensils for cooking and baking and similar concerns.
6. The Computer Laboratories serve the computer and internet needs of students, faculty and Staff. Facilities include the lecture computer technology hardware, software computer networking. These are housed in several computer laboratory rooms and too internet rooms with 87 work station.
Services include computer training, documents editing and printing, computer repair and maintenance and software installation.
